An Italian architect named David Fisher is building an 80-story moving skyscraper in Dubai that will power itself through the wind energy created by its rotations! Here is a video of the architect himself explaining his “Dynamic Tower” and animations of what it’ll look like. (I tried to embed it, but BBC has made it impossible to. It even says “Embedding disabled by request” in the corner of the dark gray box.)
So, it creates its own wind energy, it’s super hip looking….Um, won’t everyone get dizzy? I found out from the original BBC article that the circumference of the skyscraper will big enough so that each rotation will take at least an hour. (Think about it: Earth’s spinning too!)
The whole thing will be up and running in just 2 years. Just $36 mil per flat.
