NAKED environmentalists

Yup. Workers at a LUSH store, which makes “Fresh Handmade Cosmetics”, went naked to raise awareness about the waste of extra packaging on products. You know, like when all you buy is a little lip gloss, but for some reason it’s surrounded by a huge square of colorful paper.

hydroelectricity, in a new way

A town by the name Vandergrift, in Pennsylvania, is planning on using the Kiskiminetas River to generate 20% to 40% of the city’s electricity. But they’re not building a dam. They’re building something that, “wouldn’t look that different from seaweed.”

I just saw this cutely animated, disturbing, and very educational 20-minute film/ video called The Story of Stuff. It explains the linearity of the production of… stuff. And how we can’t make things in a linear way when we live on a planet with finite resources. We need a cycle .

I’m just getting so caught up in other things… work, friends, family, the summer, the usual craziness of life, etc.
